CustomerCentral: How to set up the Favorites Feature

Brief Description: This document will describe how to set up and use the CustomerCentral Favorites feature. This process consists of the following steps:
• Determining which RMS Customers should be used as Favorites
• Selecting chosen Customer(s) as Favorites in the CustomerCentral setup
• Selecting Customer Favorites into a POS transaction

Usage: A Favorite customer can be used when the cashier wishes to quickly select a commonly used template customer. For example, many wineries use a generic “POURS” customer with a 100% discount attached to denote wine that is poured throughout the day for tastings. Reports are then run to determine how much wine was poured on a given day. The Favorites feature allows the selection of this customer without requiring a CustomerCentral lookup, which will save time when entering transactions at the POS.

Prerequisites:
• CustomerCentral v 1.7.0.0 must be installed
• Cashier must have log in rights to ProductControl
• Cashier must have Manager or Admin log in rights to make setup changes in CustomerCentral
• Cashier must have knowledge of updating NVPOS products in ProductControl if required CustomerCentral version is not currently installed

Procedure:

1. Double-click NVPOS ProductControl icon:
2. Log into ProductControl
3. Highlight the CustomerCentral row and
click the [Run Application] button
4. Click the [Favorites] tab in CustomerCentral setup
5. Click the [New] button (see screenshot below)

6. Enter the First or Last name OR AccountNumber of the RMS Customer you would like to use as a Favorite, click the Search button.

7. Select the desired Customer from the list, click
Save.

Note: You may assign a Cashier Security Level which will prevent cashiers from using the Favorite button you just created.
8. The next time you log into the POS and open CustomerCentral you will see your Favorite(s) buttons on the left-hand margin. Simply click the button to select your Favorite into the transaction.
